When strong players talk about chess, they often talk about sharpness or how easy a position is to play. These are very relevant factors in human games, but for amateurs it’s hard to quantify these concepts and engine evaluations are of little or no help.
I started doing some experiments with chess engines in order to get more information out of them than only the evaluation of the position. I got interesting results, so I started to try even more things.
Here I want to share my different experiments and hope to find some novel uses of engines that are interesting to more people.

Testing all my ideas with engines takes a lot of time and sometimes computing resources, so any support is hugely appreciated.

I'm currently studying mathematics and I really enjoy trying different things with chess engines. I try to see how to get most out of them.
Here I want to share my experiments.
